Candlelight Service

Had a pretty long day today, so I'm absolutely exhausted and I'll make this post a fast one! Had music lesson at 11.45AM today for a change, since my teacher is going overseas the next day. I was thus scrambling to practice my pieces the night before. Not cool. I usually leave them practicing at the last minute though, so it's not like it's anything new! Got a new piece to practice for the Christmas break though.

I was a li'l early when I got done with my lesson, so I headed to the library close by and went there to chill! I think it's gonna be my next fave place, after my own room and the shopping malls of course. I got to the teens' section and immediately found a couple of books I could borrow! All from the same author, Lisi Harrison! Love her 'The Clique' series! Then I found this 'Who Moved my Cheese? for TEENS!' book in the Psychology section and sat at a lone sofa a level down and began reading and tweeting via my iPad! There's working wifi! Hurrah! It kinda dropped sometimes though, that's what sucks.

Met Elaine at the cafe in the library later on! I had the best onion rings (aside from the ones at Burger King). I got an early Christmas present! Hurrah! The wrapper was pretty sweet too.
I pretty much jazzed the original photo a li'l, so it looks a li'l too nicely defined in this image!

We headed to the Expo after that on the train! I hate standing all the way for nearly an hour in crowded trains, but even so, I rarely sit even when there are spare seats. Leave 'em to the preggers and oldies. I hope that doesn't leave me with mass spider veins in my legs in the future!

The candlelight service was pretty fun. Haven't attended church or done any praise and worship since school ended last year, so I kinda forgot how fun it really is. Elaine's cell group people were pretty friendly. I've never exactly been in one before though. Pathetic, I know. Anyway, we did the usual, save for lighting our own separate candles, of course - sang worship songs, listened to several pastors share, sang again (some Christmas carols included, yay!). It ended pretty quick, about a little over two hours. The candlelight part was waaay cool. They turned off all the lights in the expo hall and we started passing the flame with our candlesticks. Hot wax! Elaine accompanied me to the bookfair still going on in another Expo hall afterwards! Found such good deals. Too bad I didn't bring enough moolah to get all I wanted >.<
Books I borrowed from the library (the shabby-looking ones of course) and one I bought for just 8 bucks at the bookfair at Expo (Claudia Gray's Stargazer)!

Day of the Random Pictures 6

Pretty long post today, but I'm gonna go ahead with all the random stuff first before I started ranting my head off. First up! Three pretty humorous stuff related to Harry Potter! (Seriously, what on earth is NOT related to Harry these days? Just take a look at my Tumblr dashboard!) Double-click to enlarge those you can't see clearly!
Created with Facebook, of course. Gotta love Lord Voldy's display pic!
Ha. They're sitting in egg chairs.
4 Horcruxes and 2 Hallows. These were on display at Comic-Con!

Next up! Some more hilarities between the werewolf and the sparkly fairy from Twilight! These little convos never fail to crack me up!
Thank God... And I thought people had forgotten about Pikachu already!!
Crummy church sign. Still, Dunkin' Donuts rocks.
Glee's Chris Colfer takes a fun pic with Pinocchio. Total twins!
True that.
Got.To.Get.These!!!!!!!
The Sucker Punch movie poster released! I never knew it would turn out like this. Imagined this to be another chick flick. Vanessa Hudgens looks waaaay different - but so much edgier! Lovin' it. Turns out, Jamie Chung (DCOM's PPP) and Emily Browning (my fave! She acted in A Series of Unfortunate Events in 2004 alongside Johnny Depp!)

Anyways, my cuz agreed to go shopping with me today. Guess what - she backed out at the last minute. Just as I had already left my house and gotten on a bus there and everything. Big surprise. This wasn't the first time already. She's done it to me like five times... and counting. I'm so not going with her on this one ever again. Mark my words. I've had ENOUGH. To make things worse, I was gonna change buses and another idiotic maniac of a driver drove past the stop like he hadn't seen me flag it down. FFFFFUUUUUUU. All right, I know I had been Tumblring too much, so I'm still learning its ways! ;D

All right I'm too flamed to talk about all this now. So anyways, I went on to shop ALONE. I got some pretty good loot in 3 hours though! So here's what I got today...
Bought one more of THE CLIQUE summer collection! I've got Massie, Claire (and now Kristen!) so far. Two more to go (Dylan and Alicia)! This is my newest guilty pleasure (aside from Barbie movies!). Got 2 sets of rings too! The rounded, large silver one is actually a locket! Too cool, and I paid just 12 bucks for it! The set of three rings were too cheap, at just 5 bucks. Still, I love them! They read HOPE, FAITH and LOVE on each separate ring!
Went to an Arts and Craft's store. Got styrofoam board worth 3 bucks, a pink felt cloth (loooove it!) and white pom poms and modelling clay! The felt and pom poms - I plan to make mini hamster party hats outta them! More deets in later posts.

Day of the Random Pictures 2

I'm seriously running out of stuff to blog about! So it's the random pictures again! Note: I can't get enough of cute kittens!
Kitty under the drawer
How cute is this? A bunny-wunny and a kitty mingling!
Can't see this kitten's face. Furball cuteness!
BEST Harry Potter joke ever! Lord Voldy looks shocked to death!
A church sign. Clearly, they don't like Harry Potter very much.
A still from Toy Story 3! Turns out Andy has a TUMBLR account?!!
This just sorta creeped me out a little.
After so long, I've finally learnt how to create a nav/menu bar for my blog! The font seems too small though!

Blog Feature! My Milk Toof

New segment in this craptastic blog of mine!! I'll feature nice and rockin' blogs of any sort when I find them! Check this one out firstly!
Information about the GENIUS creator of this blog about two li'l eenie weenie milk teef, Inhae Lee!!! Cuuuuteee!!! ❤❤❤
And this blog is definitely really popular! Just check out the loooooooong list of comments people leave behind at the end of EACH POST! Oh and the fact that all ickle & Lardee (names of the two milk teef!) merch are SOLD OUT! just look at the proof below.
Below are just some snaps taken from the blog of wee ickle and Lardee! I shouldn't reveal too much here. Check out the REAL DEAL for yourself here.
ABOVE: ickle & Lardee (left), fun in a photobooth!
ABOVE: Ready for some toof cleaning!
ABOVE: Divide & conquer!
ABOVE: Comparing milk teef heights!
ABOVE: Get well soon, little ickle!
ABOVE: Burnnnn!

(I'm gonna pretend I did an interview with the blog creator here. But the answers she gives are supposedly said by Inhae herself! So here goes...)
I took the time to ask the creator of 'My Milk Toof' blog some questions. Here's what she had to say!

Q: Hello, Inhae! How did you come up with the idea for My Milk Toof?
A: After working five years in the video game industry, I finally was given the opportunity to explore some personal projects. I was vaguely familiar with what a "milk tooth" was, and after a little research I thought it was a really cute term and began developing the idea.
Q: What are ickle and Lardee made out of? They seem much too real!!
A: Polymer clay, painted with acrylics, and finished with a varnish.
Q: Why does ickle's name always start with a lowercase letter,  unlike Lardee?
A: I found that doing so helped reinforce ickle's small size; It is also for aesthetic reasons.

And that marks the end of my very first blog feature! Hopefully more would follow up. I only show the BEST!
Anyways, I'm back to SQUARE ONE for my Graphic Communication logo design!! Apparently, my semaphore flag-inspired one was for the navy, and doesn't really suit well with the occasion. Damn. I'd spent countless hours (okay perhaps just one or two) researching and trying to sketch and create it out of Illustrator! I'm in a rut now. Plus there's a Bauhaus project due on the SAME DAY as well! Arghhh. I'm gonna go loco if this goes on too long.

Saturday, April 17

This is EPIC. Read.

Okay I reblogged this conversation between a student and a professor I found on Tumblr! Since I set it up with Twitter, all my reblogs and stuff from Tumblr are transferred there too! I don't particularly understand a whole lot of it, especially the back part. See if you do!

An Atheist Professor of Philosophy was speaking to his Class on the problem Science has with GOD, the ALMIGHTY. He asked one of his new Christian students to stand.
---
PROFESSOR :You are a Christian, aren't you, son?
STUDENT :Yes, sir.
PROFESSOR :So, you believe in GOD?
STUDENT :Absolutely, sir.
PROFESSOR :Is GOD good?
STUDENT :Sure.
PROFESSOR :Is GOD ALL - POWERFUL?
STUDENT :Yes.
PROFESSOR :My Brother died of cancer even though he prayed to GOD to heal him. Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But GOD didn't. How is this GOD good then? Hmm?
(Student was silent)
PROFESSOR :You can't answer, can you? Let's start again, young fella. Is GOD Good?
STUDENT :Yes.
PROFESSOR :Is Satan good?
STUDENT :No.
PROFESSOR :Where does Satan come from?
STUDENT :From...GOD...
PROFESSOR :That's right. Tell me son, is there evil in this World?
STUDENT :Yes.
PROFESSOR :Evil is everywhere, isn't it? And GOD did make everything. Correct?
STUDENT :Yes.
PROFESSOR :So who created evil?
(Student did not answer)
PROFESSOR :Is there Sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible things exist in the World, don't they?
STUDENT :Yes, sir.
PROFESSOR :So, who created them?
(Student had no answer)
PROFESSOR :Science says you have 5 Senses you use to Identify and Observe The World around you. Tell me, son...have you ever seen GOD?
STUDENT :No, sir.
PROFESSOR :Tell us if you have ever heard your GOD?
STUDENT :No, sir.
PROFESSOR :Have you ever Felt your GOD, Tasted your GOD, Smelt your GOD? Have you ever had any Sensory Perception of GOD for that matter?
STUDENT :No, sir. I'm afraid I haven't.
PROFESSOR :Yet you still believe in HIM?
STUDENT :Yes.
PROFESSOR :According to Empirical, Testable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says your GOD doesn't exist. What do you say to that, son?
STUDENT :Nothing. I only have my Faith.
PROFESSOR :Yes, Faith. And that is the problem Science has.
STUDENT :Professor, is there such a thing as Heat?
PROFESSOR :Yes.
STUDENT :And is there such a thing as Cold?
PROFESSOR :Yes.
STUDENT :No, sir. There isn't...
(The Lecture Theatre became very quiet with this turn of events)
STUDENT :Sir, you can have Lots of Heat, even More Heat, Superheat, Mega Heat, White Heat, a Little Heat or No Heat. But we don't have anything called Cold. We can hit 458 Degrees below Zero which is No Heat, but we can't go any further after that
There is no such thing as Cold.
Cold is only a Word we use to describe the Absence of Heat.
We cannot Measure Cold.
Heat is Energy.
Cold is Not the Opposite of Heat, sir, just the Absence of it.
(There was pin-drop dilence in the Lecture Theatre)
STUDENT :What about Darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as Darkness?
PROFESSOR :Yes. What is Night if there isn't Darkness?
STUDENT :You're wrong again, sir. Darkness is the Absence of Something.
You can have Low Light, Normal Light, Bright Light, Flashing Light...
But if you have No Light constantly, you have nothing and its called Darkness, isn't it? In reality, Darkness isn't. If it is, you would be able to make Darkness Darker, wouldn't you?
PROFESSOR :So what is the point you are making, young man?
STUDENT :Sir, my point is, your Philosophical Premise is flawed.
PROFESSOR :Flawed? Can you explain how?
STUDENT :Sir, you are working on the Premise of Duality. You argue there is Life and then there is Death, a Good GOD and a Bad GOD. You are viewing the Concept of GOD as something finite, something we can measure.
Sir, Science can't even explain a Thought. It uses Electricity and Magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one.
To view Death as the Opposite of Life is to be ignorant of the fact that Death cannot exist as a Substantive Thing. Death is Not the Opposite of Life, just the Absence of it.
Now tell me, Professor, do you teach your Students that they evolved from
a Monkey?
PROFESSOR :If you are referring to the Natural Evolutionary Process, yes, of course, I do.
STUDENT :Have you ever observed Evolution with your own eyes, sir?
(The Professor shook his head with a smile, beginning to realize where the
argument was going)
STUDENT :Since no one has ever observed the Process of Evolution at work and Cannot even prove that this Process is an On-Going Endeavor, Are you not teaching your Opinion, sir? Are you not a Scientist but a Preacher?
(The Class was in uproar)
STUDENT :Is there anyone in the Class who has ever seen the Professor's brain?
(The Class broke out into laughter)
STUDENT :Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor's brain, felt it, touched or smelt it?... No one appears to have done so.
So, according to the Established Rules of Empirical, Stable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says that you have No Brain, sir. With all due respect, sir, how do we then trust your lectures, sir?
(The Room was silent. The Professor stared at the student, his face unfathomable)
PROFESSOR :I guess you'll have to take them on Faith, son.
STUDENT :That is it sir...Exactly!
The Link between Man & GOD is FAITH.
That is all that Keeps Things Alive and Moving.
That student was ALBERT EINSTEIN.
We had this debate in our Religion class recently. This conversation sort of took place. Faith, it is.
Okay, some parts were pretty hilarious and all insightful. But I'm not that person who looks too much into all these. So I wasn't exactly expecting it when some guy from Twitter sent me a reply which went like this:
And I didn't know what he meant either! Then he went all:

To clear any doubts, I'm NOT an Atheist! I believe in Christianity and Jesus God and all,  and I read the Bible. So I wasn't too sure what he's on about. I wasn't the one who'd created that conversation either so...
Sorry no quote today! Out for a meal soon! Ciao xxx

*Later...* Had a meal at a restaurant bar at Harry's. Awesome food! I tried their pasta aglio-olio, which includes white wine and olive oil in it, but still just as good! Also attempted a mocktail called Strawberry Colada! Pretty good stuff. But my face went all twisted when I first tried it out. Went to buy two tubs of Ben & Jerry's after! I got Phish Food & S'mores ;D S'mores got pretty icy when I took it out of the supermarket freezer. But that was the only one left, so it was a *take it or leave it* decision!
ABOVE: Strawberry Colada! It's pretty dark in there so I couldn't get a good shot!

Letters to God - Hilarious ones!

PLUS! 6 Things to do in Tokyo
I found an article of the following title on the web. And since I couldn't find a way to share the entire thing on this blog, I'd cropped out the images and the list from the site! I didn't exactly manage to complete all 6 things while I was in Tokyo several days ago!

ABOVE: Nope, only had the usual udon and soba (buckwheat noodles) while there!
ABOVE: Thankfully, I did see the snow-capped mountain! But it was completely covered in snow, unlike this one.
ABOVE: Definitely not been there.
ABOVE: Went to an onsen and went back feeling pretty disgusted. Other than that, it was fun - all that Edo-era stuff.
The tour guide from our Mt. Fuji trip mentioned it as we cruised by in the bus. It was where much of the melodrama unfolded in the Hollywood hit 'Lost in Translation'. Didn't go to this tho...
ABOVE: Umm, duh! Who in the hell doesn't shop while on vaca?! Japanese goods are sooo kawaii, but not as affordable. I'd recommend Shinjuku and Harajuku Street, 'cos Shibuya and Ginza are much too fancy and exxy!

Anyway, travel aside, I came across this fun webpage where kids write their personal letters to God, albeit with some hard-to-read penmanship! Most of them just crack me up! Here are a few examples:
