April Fools' Day DIY!

It's April Fools' Day tomorrow people! I'm posting this a day before, so you get to prepare whatever you need to get the next day pumpin' with practical jokes, ingenious and classic pranks and DIY stuff! Enjoy this annual special event!

Personally, I haven't done much April Fools' stuff on that very day. Just minor pranks that don't really hurt, and don't really crack people up. I know, pathetic huh? Still, I'd be plenty busy for this year's event, since I've got to pack for my trip two days later! Ohhh I can't wait! Anyway, here goes... (For more, click here!)

Here's a special recipe to trick family and friends:

Since I looove cupcakes, I'll put up this one! The first surprise here: there's not a grain of sugar in these cupcakes. The second surprise: your fam and friends will love them anyway. They might look yummy, but it's not at all what they're expecting! A perfect deceptive April Fools' dessert!

Ingredients:

For MEAT LOAF
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1 cup grated Monterey Jack cheese
  • 3 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
For POTATO FROSTING
  • 3 cups mashed potatoes
  • Food coloring
Instructions:

  1. Heat the oven to 375 degrees. Line 12 muffin tin cups with foil bake cups.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together all of the meat loaf ingredients until well combined. Divide the mixture evenly among the lined cups (the liners should be about three quarters full).
  3. Place the filled muffin tins on cookie sheets and bake the cupcakes for about 15 minutes or until cooked through.
  4. Divide the mashed potatoes among three small bowls and stir a few drops of food coloring into each batch to create blue, yellow, and pink pastel frostings. Spread a generous dollop on each cupcake. Makes 12 cupcakes.

The video below shows you how to make Mock Sushi! Classic! (You would have to wait for a while before the ad at the start completes though!) Try it out!

Now comes the pranks! These good-humoured hijinks are bound to set off your target laughing through this special day!

Mock Fortune-Telling

All you need is a pack of cards, and a victim most importantly!
Choose a victim and ask them to sit on the floor. The fortune teller makes a circle of cards around them and says, "You want to know your past, present, and future?" "Yes," the victim will say. "Your past is that you sat down in that ring, your present is you are sitting there now, and your future is you will have to get up again."

ABOVE: Wanna make the whole experience a bit more real? Dress up like this in a fortune teller costume!

Joke on the Water

This is a great idea that will bring a smile whether you're the trickster or the target! This buoyant stunt gives new meaning to bathroom humor. On a few squares of toilet paper, write a goofy gag line with permanent marker, then float the paper in the toilet for the next visitor to find.

A special quote for April Fools'!
"Let us be thankful for the fools. But for them the rest of us could not succeed."
- Mark Twain
