Silo-Style Living

Another blog post in less than 5 minutes from the previous one! I hope this is some kind of record, for me! Anyway, I just wanted to share the contents of this awesome email I received sometime ago, but didn't get a chance to blog about it until now...

It will absolutely BLOW YOUR MIND!

Okay, not really. It didn't have that kind of effect on me when I first read about it, so I imagine others would feel the same way too. Here are some questions to consider before you continue reading...
  • Always wanted an "outside-the-box" real estate?
  • Do you know how to make do with whatever you have to create something totally different?
  • Low income housing that still looks totally swanky: is it possible?
Check this sweet little pad!
 The living room...
 And the kitchen!
 The bedroom...
Entry & stairs to the 2nd level.
 Hit the showers!
Sink & mirror.

What do you think? Looks pretty modern, eh? In fact, it looks like it could be in a swanky high-rise condo, or a town house near the city, perhaps.
HERE'S THE INCREDIBLE PART...
This 1-bedroom loft apartment was built inside a 1940s GRAIN BIN! Amazing huh?

It was renovated into this upscale unit after it was purchased and relocated to the grounds of the Gruene Homestead Inn in New Braunfels, TX.

As quoted in the email... "If this isn't creative craftsmanship, then I don't know what is!"

Would you have thought to do the same with an old silo?

Danger Bears

Super bored home. I woke late, had noodles for my breakfast-lunch, and did MWL all the way till the evening! No doubt stopping to do other stuff along the way. Thank God I'm all done with all the 42 sets! So I can probably take a break from all the schoolwork - for now. There's still the friggin' social psych common test to study for that's in 3 weeks, and a proposal for WritCom to write that's due in February, and lots of stuff I can't ring a bell.

I'm on the topic of dangerous bears today. Can't find much on this random topic, but here it is. A GIF and a lone picture. Pretty hilarious stuff though!
Dancing bears are dangerous bears! Okay, that made no sense.
Kinda sadistic photo. But I cracked up when I first saw it. Poor girl - being eaten by the grizzly thng.

Final Friday

It's time to break out on the couch again and start festive-watching and eating in front the TV once more! God I love Christmas so much. I'll probably end up in the state like that kitty below by the end of the holidays! Bummer.
 COOLEST. SLUSHIE. MACHINE. EVER.
OMG imagine the joy living in such a pinkified, Hello-Kitty themed house. I'm in love.
Get gobbled up in a giant cheeseburger as you sleep. Coolest bed ever.

Another uneventful day today, really. Had 6 hours of lessons, then I headed home. Pretty boring life I have, I'm should be so proud *dripping with sarcasm*. We had to do another presentation of outline for Speech Communication! And I got paired with a guy I don't exactly talk to in my class for our stereo capsule radio assignment for radio since our teacher chose partners for us. Oh well. Good news is, today's the final day of classes before the holiday break starts!! Ecstatic. But totally bummed it's only till after the New Year's...

Skeletal Lovers in Roma

I don't usually blog more than once a day, but thought I should post this up! As scary the photo may look (nobody should be that terrified of skeletons!), it's a really lovely story that goes on behind it. Read the description below for deets about this real-life phenomenon!
These two skeletons from the Neolithic period have been discovered by archaeologists near Mantua in Italy and are believed to be young lovers due to the presence of all the teeth. The Location of their eternal embrace was just 25 miles south of Verona, the city where Shakespeare’s love story Romeo and Juliet was set.
I'd admit, it's sorta creepy really, the way their skeletal legs still entwine in an embrace which went on even after their bodies had decayed. And is that a KNIFE I see at the bottom in between the skeleton's leg bone? Share

Genius Inventions (Probably)

Found some photos of pretty ingenious creations - they look so mighty simple you'd wish you'd thought of them first! Some, on the other hand, are so outrageously crazy!
Keep your pen handy as you eat! The funny thing is, how do you find a pen that fits into the cap, lest they've got special ones to function especially for this invention?
...This would do me so much justice. I can barely get up on public transportation carrying soda cans opened like this.
Pretty boring invention, really. Who needs perfectly sliced pizzas?
It's gonna leave marks on your thumb - that's for sure. But it's pretty handy I s'pose, for bookworms like moi.
For the cold winter days when your child tags along for Christmas shopping!
Cool jug - it splits both ways.
Probably just as gross to pick up when you buy one as it is to look at it lying on an empty chair. Cool stuff tho - they used Dunkin' Donuts and Ben & Jerry's cups!
My favorite invention amongst all the ones listed here! No need for a flashlight or *shudder* - candles!
I saved the um, best(?) for last. You're bringing the toilet paper wherever you go! It works for colds too. I'm pretty sure it's a Japanese invention! They've got the coolest ideas.

An extraordinary amount of arrogance is present in any claim of having been the first in inventing something.

Stop and Stare

It's all about the beautiful things in life! I know the title is one of the hits by 'One Republic', but whatevs! All these photos would make you, well, stop and stare at 'em! Totally crappy sentence there, I know.
All hail Hitler! (I'm no Neo-Nazi FYI!)
Artsy palette!
The magic of Disneyland extends to the waffles too!
Alice Matryoshka dolls!
Fancy tea, anyone?
BEHOLD! The Levitating Kitty! Can't help but be amazed by this.
Even cats dream of walking on the Moon!
The orange color wheel!
The topsy-turvy house. It's in Korea, I reckon.
Paris on canvas.

Novelties

It's all about the novelty! I'm pretty sure everyone has seen at least one of their products somewhere (if you haven't, 'fess up and crawl out from underneath that rock!). I really love Fred's products - to view more of the products, go here! The ones I've listed below are some of my all-time faves! Double-click any of them to enlarge to see the short paragraphs!
DESK
Classic earphones that are shaped to form two dynamic speakers? Love it!
Don't be fooled by the loose wires - it's a USB thumbdrive!
A pencap to store your pens!

KEYS
Ann absolute adoring fan of the Russian Matryoshka dolls like I am? Then these cute replicas would suit your keys just perfect!
Sucker for sock monkeys?

HOME
Doing the chores has never been this fun! *voice dripping with sarcasm*
Cool reproduction of the manholes! Now you can step past them not fearing they'd suddenly open up and drop you into the sewers!
Stick these fun accessories on your mirror!

KITCHEN
Eiffel Tower stampers for your morning toast!
Everything can be solved with cake! (I wish)
Tiny plates for your fingers, perfect for those finger food at an exclusive party!
Make your drink seemingly cooler with ice shaped as a guitar!

LIFE
Lovin' this! This CRIME SCENE scarf is in bright, show-stoppin' yellow - you'll be receiving stares left and right!
Just make sure you do not use this bag while boarding the plane! To get my drift, enlarge the image!
